    交流出版社重新以繁體中文字出版「中華文化智慧系列」一一是秉承「交匯環球文化，流傳華夏詩書」的精神，肩負把中華文化流傳至世界各地的宏願。付梓的「中華文化智慧系列」首批共八套，書目如下：

    莊子是繼老子之後，戰國時期道家學派的代表人物，同時也是一位優秀的文學家和哲學家。《莊子》一書，是莊子學派的著述總集，共三十三章，分為內篇、外篇和雜篇三個部分。莊子博大精深的哲學體系足與古希臘哲學體系相媲美。其完整的哲學思想體系跟西方哲學家的許多觀點，既有相似之處，又有許多不同的地方。
    全書以汪洋恣意的文字為形式、用不拘於常理的觀念為內容，透過豐富想像力的神話和寓言，展現莊子的天道觀、人生觀和價值觀。他在兩千年前就認識到個人與社會群體的矛盾，與西方的薩特思考著同樣的問題並找尋解決方法。
現存《莊子》英譯版本不少，我們選取對古籍及譯本有較佳探討的湖南出版社簡體版本：以原書為依歸，追本溯源，作出簡繁易轉，以饗讀者。
我們的努力，最想獲得的是國外廣大讀者的認同。我們感到很高興，因為中華人民共和國國務院新聞辦公室對我們的努力已經作出肯定；並己支持我們出版首批繁體字「中華文化智慧系列」 ，使本社把中華文化流傳至世界各地的宏願得以實踐。我們在此謹再次向中華人民共和國國務院新聞辦公室表示由衷的感謝。願中國古典文化的優勢可以為世界帶來更大的文明發展。
Preface I
The goal of Chiao Liu Publishing is to spread Chinese culture to all regions in the world. Our slogan is "interflow global culture, spread Chinese knowledge". The first batch of "Chinese Culture and Wisdom Series" has eight sets:

Zhuang-Zi was a key figure of the Taoist scholars after Lao-Zi in the Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.). He was an outstanding scholar as well as a respectful philosopher. The book, Zhuang Zi, was a general collection of Zhuang-Zi's ideology. There are a total of thirty-three chapters made up with inner chapters, outer chapters and miscellaneous chapters. The profound and completeness of philosophy of Zhuang-Zi is comparable to that of the philosophy of ancient Greek. Certainly, there are many similarities as well as dissimilarities between them.
In the book, Zhuang Zi, numerous fables and myths were told with romantic artistic expressions, realistic descriptions, willful notion and the use of unbridled language. It unfolded Zhuang-Zi's perspectives on the natural Way, his philosophy of life and values.
Two thousand years ago, Zhuang-Zi was thinking about and trying to solve the same problem that puzzled the French existentialist, Jean-Paul Sartre: the contradiction between an individual and the community, and interesting enough that they had common ground. His book inspired greatly on philosophy, literature and language art on the after ages.
Since there are different versions of translations for the ancient classic, we carefully chose the best simplified Chinese version from Hunan Publishing and changed the simplified Chinese characters back into the ancient (traditional) Chinese for overseas readers.
What we look for is to relate well with overseas readers. It is our honour to announce that the State Council Information Office, People's Republic of China showed their approval and support to the publishing of this series. Thus, our goal of spreading Chinese culture and wisdom to all regions in the world is one solid step further. We have to show our appreciation again for the State Council Information Office, PRC for their support and affirmation on our goal. We believe the ancient Chinese culture will continuously play an important role in the stage of civilization worldwide.
